The lights are on
The next Medal of Honor game is coming this October.
According to the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, the game is called Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The sequel to the 2010 reboot is again being developed by Danger Close studios and follows the story of Tier 1 Operators. Multiplayer is being developed in house this time, not by DICE.
The game also uses the Frostbite 2.0 engine, the same engine that powered Battlefield 3.
EA will have more to show at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month. In the meantime, check out the new OXM for more details, interviews, and screenshots.
The first image of the game was posted on the official Medal of Honor website today.
They're getting a second chance, better not mess up this time.
Awesome. Better graphics and an independent take on the developer's part to do the multiplayer is just what I wanted to happen. I thought the first one was good (about a solid 7.75), so hopefully Danger Close is learning from their mistakes so they can create a fantastic sequel.
I loved the first one, so this is awesome news. I know the first wasn't the most polished game but it told a great story, albeit with some pacing and gameplay issues. Can't wait for more news on the game.
Thank god Dice is not developing the multiplayer.
Frostbite 2.0 FTW...hope they get it right this time...Clan Support Please!!
A different FPS than Battlefield or CoD with the support of a big publisher is intriguing, but the series hasn't exactly met the hype with quality in the past
Nice...very nice...not thrilling...but nice...
Oh jesus here we go again.
Why would they be so *** retarded?
Didn't they know how much I was willing to part with had they given me a world war game with a good multiplayer mode?
We have CoD, BF, and a countless of other less known titles that maintain the setting of modern FPS games and almost NO historical ones nowadays.
It would even be better in sense of having less competition.
This amazing franchise has been turned into utter ***.
Don't you remember the atmosphere and soundtrack of the original MoH games? What did they do with it all? Relocate it into an abused modern warfare setting and replace the soundtrack with an extremely unmemorable screeching sounds that sound worse than if I were to rub a broken chalk on an old blackboard.
Oh, Medal of Honor... please don't let me down again. =(
wait, the only semi-redeeming factor of 2010's "Medal of Honor" WAS the multiplayer made by DICE.
The graphics on that game were that of a mediocre PS2 title. Not to mention game-halting bugs and bullets that glowed neon-green.
warfighter, kinda like they are making restitution for the whole taliban incident.
The previous Medal of Honor had a an excellent single-player campaign, but the multiplayer was just terrible.
Glad to hear its being made in house this time!
Looking forward to some more info about this one, and some gameplay footage.
