Medal of Honor: Warfighter Revealed

The next Medal of Honor game is coming this October.

According to the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, the game is called Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The sequel to the 2010 reboot is again being developed by Danger Close studios and follows the story of Tier 1 Operators. Multiplayer is being developed in house this time, not by DICE.

The game also uses the Frostbite 2.0 engine, the same engine that powered Battlefield 3.

EA will have more to show at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month. In the meantime, check out the new OXM for more details, interviews, and screenshots.

The first image of the game was posted on the official Medal of Honor website today.

  • Nice. Hopefully the multiplayer is improved this time around, but regardless, it's still something to keep an eye on.

  • Im happy DICE isn't working on the multiplayer this time. It's not that they are bad at making multiplayer, it is just that they tried to make MOH's multiplayer like BF3. I hope Danger Close can incorporate some of the features from the single player, like selecting fire, the slide into cover move, and going prone.

  • So Bad Company 3 next year?
  • The first game was kind of a disappointment for me. I'll give this one a chance, but my expectations aren't very high. The lack of DICE working on the multiplayer both lowers my expectations of this sequel, and excites me because that means that DICE is busy working on something for themselves. (Bad Company 3 anyone?)

  • good luck fighting cod lol...the first one was pure garbage except i liked playing the apache...

  • I'm not going to lie, I picked up Medal Of Honor on Xbox 360 when it was on sale for like $10. I actually really enjoyed the single player campaign. Much better then any Battlefield campaign on the market, but the game online was a mess. Dice cannot make a online game to save their life. It was basically the same online as Bad Company.

This was a mistake because the controls were totally different online and handled different online compared to in the campaign. Also, in the campaign you could go prone, online you couldn't.

Now that Dice is keeping their hands off it, I will definitely give this game a look.

  • Warfighter? Seriously? C'mon EA you can think of something better than that.

  • Maybe this time around the multiplayer won't be a poor imitation of BF?

  • This should be interesting. Wonder how this will differ from the previous MoH and COD games?  The storyline should be intriguing also because the 2010 version ended with a cutscene in the Middle East somewhere. I am looking forward to the trailers and preview for this game. Its going on my playlist for the 2012 year.

  • Fake. The MoH Warfighter thing is a fan made card game. forum.ea.com/.../8168170.page

  • EA: "We do not see the need to release Battlefield on a yearly basis". Solution: Medal of Honor.
  • "EA doesn't condone a yearly release of sequels" BF MoH BF MoH BF MoH.... LIARS
  • Ohhh thats cool. I wanna get it.

  • Is it inappropriate to say I am relatively excited for this? The multiplayer was sub-par but the campaign was an enjoyable experience. To hear that the multiplayer is being developed by Danger Close only adds to that excitement.

  • The next installment is going to be called "Medal of Honor: Bad guy Shooter"

  • Color me excited!  Medal of Honor is extremely underrated and had the best campaign story of any of the modern shooters.  It was real and personal, and not over the top.

  • That's a horrible title. Horrible.
  • That's pretty cool. I never played the last one...or any medal of honor game.

  • EA is just like Activision, EA releases yearly FPS BF and MoH, and Activision CoD but a Treyarch CoD and an Infinity Ward CoD its the same name but not the same gameplay.

  • I thought 2010's Medal Of Honor wasn't that bad. I just hope Medal Of Honor: Warfighter is way better.
