The lights are on
A rumor has surfaced courtesy of some former AMD employees who say that Sony is going with AMD for the PlayStation 4's GPU.
Forbes has the short and sweet tidbit, which simply states, "[AMD] may play a key role in the new product."
It's worth noting that Sony competitor Microsoft used AMD for the Xbox 360.
Neither Sony nor AMD will comment on the matter.

I would prefer Intel/Nvidia myself but that's simply me. We've only had problems in my household with AMD/Ati stuff.
AMD is really locking down the console space. Sony would make the last of the big three to adopt the AMD GPUs. I personally go with NVidia for my power PC gaming but AMD is always very competitive with their components. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that NVidia is doing more work on mobile and tablet architecture and the fact that AMD has become such a console specialists.
never had a issue with amd in my pc so i don't mind in the least not that thered be a reason to regardless
Hopefully this is step one of making sure it's easier to develop for.
Wonder why they did this. Probably cheaper.
Hahah the last line is what I laughed at. "Neither Sony nor AMD will comment on the matter." Thats funny to me.
Good move, Sony.
As long as the Graphics works! But for goodness sakes, give the PS4 a REAL amount of RAM for both the CPU & GPU to work with, unlike what ya did with the PS3!
With that said, i'm using an AMD CPU & Graphics Card in my Computer & both have been doing well. :)
AMD has been since 1969 in the market. What will you prefer the noob or the vet?
When they actually comment on that then it will be cool.
what does this even mean?
