BioWare's Mass Effect 3 comes out on March 6, and on that day PlayStation 3 owners are getting the special treatment courtesy of some pre-order items.

PS3 fans who pre-order the game for day-one digital download can snag themselves the M55 Argus rifle as well as two exclusive PS3 themes (shown above and below). BioWare says the M55 Argus rifle is ideal in close-ranged combat due to its powerful bursts, and the PS3 themes are exclusive to this pre-order initiative, and won't be available after this offer.

I'd still rather get it for the 360 for two reasons. First, You get to transfer saved files from ME1. Secondly, you get DLC first.

The rifle is available to everyone that pre-orders. More likely it's available to anyone that buys a new copy. The only thing actually offered here is the pair of themes.

To any oblivious PS3 owner, you can access the Internet through the web browser and set searched images as your background. It's still not a theme, but at least you don't have to pre-order a $60 game.

meh? nice to have exclusives but... i would like more then just a close range rifle... like throw in a weapon pack, or armor pack, or something...

Already got a Mass Effect 3 preorder at GameStop. Plus, I'm not all that into digital distribution. I like a hard copy of my game.

A nice incentive, but since I played the first two on 360, no dice for me.

Also, I like to have physical copies of big AAA titles so even if they did the same offer for Xbox users, I doubt I'd go for it.
