Brain Age Heads To 3DS

by Jim Reilly on Feb 22, 2012 at 04:57 AM

Nintendo announced new Brain Age title for the 3DS, due out this summer in Japan. North America and Europe release plans have not been announced.

The announcement came during last night's Nintendo Direct presentation. Company president Satoru Iwata said, "Around three years ago, Professor Kawashima came to me with a new method of brain training based on the latest brain science."

He said the key concepts of this new method are the training of your concentration and of your memory. "With the incredible growth of digital devices in recent years, we now have access to information whenever and wherever we want, making our lives much easier.

"As a society we have received a huge benefit from this change, but Professor Kawashima is pointing out the possibility that since we now rely too much on such devices we might have stopped using our brains so much or lost our restraint and our ability to control ourselves and be patient."

Oh, and Professor Kawashima now takes on the appearance of a demon in the new game.
