The lights are on
Apple has removed all three games from the App store. If you ended up buying on of them, you can request a refund through your Purchase History.
Buyer beware. One of the top-selling apps today on iTunes is a fake Pokemon game.
Dubbed "Pokemon Yellow," the game doesn't even work and is in no way related to the official Nintendo product. The app was uploaded by Daniel Burford of Home of Anime late last week.
"Shoulda read the bottom comments before purchasing, this is a scam. Crashes after main screen," read one customer review. The same company also recently uploaded fake versions of Digimon and YuGiOh+.
We contacted Nintendo and Apple for comment and when or if the Apps will be removed.
I thought the big deal about getting on the App Store was that Apple themselves had to approve your App? Obviously just about anyone can get their app on there now...
haha that sucks..
That's kinda funny, actually.
Isn't that technically fraud? Well, as well as obvious copyright infringment. Think this may end up costing him quite a lot of money, which makes me happy.
Why don't people ever read comments....
Copyright infringement & fraud. That's a great strategy b/c there's no way they could track these people down, right? There's no way investigators could follow the money or use the internet to find a company that makes apps.
They better remove that app if they know what good for them! Otherwise they'll be feeling the wrath of Nintendo's legal teams!
Saw this and it was hilarious
Take that scammers!!
Man, I love Pokemon and Yugioh so much and it tickes me off how these guys made a scam off it. Ugh, I'm glad they were taken down. I say these guys should be suied.
awww i didnt even get to see it.
If you morons actually thought that Pokemon Yellow would be on the App Store for real, then you are just brain-dead STUPID!! If a Pokemon game was gunna be on the app store, it would have been released by Nintendo themselves, not some random guy. You don't even need to check the reviews first, just check the publisher's name! Dumb-asses!
Reminds me of when I bought a fake copy of Pokemon Emerald..... screw you guy from Hong Kong... screw you.
But at least I learned a valuable lesson: Never buy from people in Hong Kong.
See people think Reviews ruin things, no, they are there to help you save money and not buy crap that people try to market. now if only apple would check all of their products and not just a few of them.
