Kingdom Hearts 3D Will Feature Elements Of Tron: Legacy

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance will feature characters and settings from the 2010 film, Tron: Legacy.

The Tron world will be called The Grid, and will feature appearances by Kevin and Sam Flynn, and Quorra. The news comes from the Japanese publication Jump, which has screenshots from the game showing off the aforementioned characters.

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance, a title that is 32 characters long (not including spaces) and nine total syllables, will release in North America sometime this year.

  • Well, I guess that means we wont be going back to neverland for the millionth time! YAAAAAAAY!
  • Looks gorgeous, but they really need to work on titles...
  • Oh, so this isn't Kingdom Hearts 3? Moving on...
  • In other news, Kid Icarus: Uprising is named Kid Icarus: Uprising and features Kid Icarus and is made by Nintendo and will be playable on the 3DS. Sources from: bottom of the barrel. lol jk

Tron: Legacy was an emotionally moving movie so it will most likely work well into this series. I think in the trailer of the game I saw a cutscene where Quorra and Sora were fighting Tron together. It will be cool.
  • I already knew this from watching the trailers. How is this news?
  • This looks about as idiotic as Final Fantasy
  • There should be a drinking game where people point out a long or weird title for a game. But, I don't drink nor care about the title of a game. I only care if it's fun.

  • As long as its light cycles, as they are the only good parts of it.

  • I can't wait to hear Jeff Bridges in Japanese

  • Well, I can't wait for this to come out.

  • I love how the Nintendo 3DS is getting all these great games a year after the release. I expect Nintendo to have better sales then Vita.

  • You don't actually include the "3D". The 3D stands for Dream Drop Distance. Why they haven't removed it from the title is probably so people wont get confused and think Square is making 2 different KH games, because it was called KH:3D for a year before.

  • Kingdom Hearts has become a joke of a franchise after KH2.... it's sad. I had such fond memories of both iterations on ps2.
  • It'll be good because it's progressing with the story rather than telling more of the back-story. The whole thing is about Sora and Riku going to take their Mark of Mastery exams. So it's definitely the foundation of KH3.
  • I'll admit I sort of lost track of the KH games after I beat KH 2 which is a shame since I really enjoyed playing through both the original game and its sequel. They seemed to be released so many prequels and "inbetweeners" (games set between the events of KH 1 and 2) and they were all for handheld systems (of which I have none) that my interest just naturally waned. Hopefully this game is the final stepping stone before KH 3, I'd love to get back into the series with a new numbered entry for current-gen (or maybe even next-gen) consoles.
  • old news

  • cool! I enjoyed Tron Legacy so it will be nice to see the characters in a good game

  • I used to be a Kingdom Hearts fan, but then I took twenty million spinoffs to the wallet.
  • Good thing I was one of the people who loved Tron Legacy, since a lot of people didn't.
  • You a$$clowns, come out with kingdom hearts 3 on console already or an HD collection of 1&2.
