The lights are on
David Jaffe, Twisted Metal director and vocal developer personality, has uploaded a video to YouTube updating fans on the status of Twisted Metal Online.
There isn't much to report other than the fact that Jaffe is aware of the problems people are having with his game, and he is appreciative of the feedback, even if it is negative. He's working with Sony to come up with a solution.
The reason this is interesting, is because we rarely see developers creating such a personal relationship with their fans. Typically communication of this sort is done through press release e-mails, but Jaffe sits down on his computer, pauses to belch, and let's everyone know that he is getting on the phone with Sony soon.

Yeah man.. I've been able to get into a few games and it is a blast.. But this day in age virtually everything is broken in some shape or form... especially multiplayer...
I still plan on playing Twisted Metal and the digital copy of Twisted Metal Black that I got with it.
I personally don't like Jaffe but I like how connected he is to the gaming community and how passionate he is about his projects, wish more designers would keep up-to-date like this
I like that he interacts with the community and keeps it real and how he is the same person no matter the circumstance. I'll definitely be picking up Twisted Metal when I'm able to, right now all my spare money is lined up for the PS Vita so I hope everything's fixed by the time I buy Twisted Metal.
"Hang on I've got a burp coming"
Always the professional. That's why he's the greatest. More companies should acknowledge their mistakes like Jaffe's doing. Don't come out and say that we just don't get the game *cough* Duke Nukem *cough*. Good for him. Not the best artist judging by his environment, but he makes a solid game.
this guy rocks!!
This was a nice thing to do.
And this, as we all know, is why Jaffe is incredible. He says, "f*ck you" to PR BS and comes right out and gives us a video with his thoughts and what is going on.
Jaffe is awesome. I really wish more developers were THAT hands on with the community.
where's he going now because he left Eat Sleep Play? i'm gonna buy a PS3 soon and Twisted Metal will be my 1st game for it...EDIT: why would you sell a game then buy it back for a short amount of time just keep it and don't play it till its fixed
Its good when a dev steps up, esp when a lead does, even more so whhen that lead is about to leave.
I didn't notice his mickey mouse Disney Land hat before, that's awesome and an odd juxtaposition too.
I only tried to play online in twisted metal once, and I couldn't get into a game.
but the single player modes are actually great
