The lights are on
NCsoft is rolling on a PC beta for Guild Wars 2 with a larger trial in April, but that's not all the publisher has going on with the franchise.
The company confirmed to GameSpot that it has inaugurated a small development team to start work on a console version of Guild Wars 2. What console and when it's expected to come out are unknown at this point.
Given that Microsoft is known for resisting putting MMOs on Xbox Live, it'll be interesting to see if Guild Wars 2 has a shot at landing on that console (even though the PC version does not have monthly fees).

No real difference between Guild Wars and any other multiplayer game. It's "microtransactions" and "expansions" already exist in form of DLC...
There are some quite a few online-only games on 360 too (mostly shooters).
Unless NCsoft wants the NCsoft launcher. But Microsoft might even be okay with that considering all the applications for 360 now.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhh.
Wow, I did not see that coming. I wasn't sure if I was going to get this on PC or not, but if it comes out on Xbox then I'll definitely be checking it out.
Sweet i might actually play an MMO now
Wow I always wanted to play this game now it looks like I will someday I can't wait to learn when it's going to come out.
WiiU exclusive. I'm calling it. Just think about the whole "Dragon Quest X" thing. That's basically an MMO too right? And they're releasing that for the WiiU. I think this is going to become one of the WiiU's strengths if I'm right.
If this turns out to be true then that also means Nintendo has really shaped up in the online department.
That would be amazing, looks like I'd have to buy a PS3 to play it though (Xbox getting a MMO? that's a a joke).
PS3!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is awesome. As an owner of both consoles, I don't care where it ends up lol.
I hope there's a console-pc server. Would make it a day 1 buy for me.
