The lights are on
Electronic Arts seems to be getting a little carried away with the whole space thing.
Starting next week, the publisher is launching copies of the game into space using weather balloons and will be releasing them in New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris.
Each game has a GPS tracking device so fans can follow their location as they descend to Earth a full week early before going on sale.
EA says it will provide more details on Tuesday next week.

Mass Effect meteorites! D:>
Ok then... That's kinda strange...
And then a bushman throws the evil thing off the edge of the earth.
send one out adrift in a protective container, that way a billion years from now... something will find it and be like "wtf?"...
that sounds sooo stupid.
I look at things like this and can't help but think how much good the money they're wasting on such a ridiculous stunt could do for fellow human beings trying to catch a break; or just looking for one opportunity to succeed. With age and struggle come more empathic perspectives on life I suppose..
can we shoot them down.
i live in new York and near JFK airport so fingers crossing on wait i'm a PC gamer forget this, i'm boycotting origins. go valve go
wtf. lol cool.
i get the decision behind this, everyone knows that the ea marketing department is located in hell so they are attempting to get it as far away form those twats as possible. (see zero punctuation Dante's inferno review)
Really lame but I'm sure it will build up the excitement.
Wow... just... wow. That's so crazy!
any chance of Atlanta getting a copy?
Well, this is a waste of money. Not only are they spending money on the balloons, they are losing at least a few hundred dollars worth of sales. Though, what is a few hundred dollars in several hundred thousand?
Will be kind of interesting to see where they each land.
