Assassin's Creed III Coming In October

Ubisoft today confirmed when it will release Assassin's Creed III this fall.

The game will arrive on October 30, 2012, the publisher said. No other details were announced.

"We will push the title a lot because it's a fantastic product that the team has been working for three years," said CEO Yves Guillemot. "What we have seen is just fabulous."

Ubisoft also said it shipped 7 million copies of Assassin's Creed Revelations so far through December 2011.

  • YES!.....YES!

  • YESSSS ive been waiting for this for soo long i LOVE Assassins Creed

  • I really wish that they'd hold off on this one. One per year is killing the series, there was a massive leap from AC to AC2 and then the series just flat-lined. There was no real innovation in Brotherhood outside of the multiplayer, which was cumbersome at best. I love the story, but I think they need to stop pulling an Activision and instead focus on really improving the game as a whole before releasing another one. Oh yeah, and by improving, I don't mean just adding gimicky bombs and calling it good.

  • Mod

What the blasphemy is going on!why does it say ac3 that came out two years ago! Airs called brotherhood

  • They need to take this series to Japan and forget about this Desmond ***. I'd love to be a black ninja stalking rooftops with this kind of gameplay

  • I completely didn't see this coming...

  • As I said about Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations in my post @ majamaki.com/.../top-10-games-of-2011 Ubi Soft is shooting themselves in the foot by doing annual releases.  Take a queue from Rockstar and give the series some breathing room so gamers will truly appreciate it more.

  • I have reason to think that AC3 takes place behind Desmond mainly because of how Revelations ends.
  • I don't understand why everyone is so upset and surprised by this. It has been public knowledge for a while now that Revelations was essentially just an expansion to fill in the gap until AC3 is released.

  • I swear to all that is holy, if I don't get to assassinate some Templars as Desmond....

  • That's surprising. I'm definitely looking forward to it but, as some other posters have already said, there is a great deal of superfluous crap Revelations that should have been left out and seems to be there just to give someone on one of the dozen teams involved something to do. Den Defense was just pointless (I only did it for the medal and the guild requirements) as were the Desmond missions (all I learned from those that I didn't already know was that he ran away at 16 and went to a club with some hotties once). Strangely enough the secret locations, which I liked, were all but done away with so I hope to see more of those in the new release.

  • People seem to forget that ACIII always had to be out before December 2012. It is part of the plot.

Be mad that they made Revelations and didn't skip that year. Not that they are making ACIII this year, when it really makes the most sense.

  • I'm so happy to hear this, I'm going to pre-order asap.

I had no idea until now what the deal was with AC since Brotherhood. I'm kinda glad to hear that Brotherhood and Revelation where intentional filler. I enjoyed them, but was getting tired and worried about lack of innovation.

These people have the potential to make it fresh, and take it to the next level...YO.

  • Oh gee, another Assassin's Creed... the only thing that could make this year more surprising is if a Call of Duty were to be announced too.

Seriously though, I still haven't finished Brotherhood and have Revelations sitting sealed on my shelf, can't they take a year off so I can catch up? christ

  • I am sure they won't release it too soon because all their games I have played feels very polished. This was probably already being worked on considering that Brotherhood and Revelations was more of a 2.5 version of the games telling of story in between full numbered games.

People don't assume it will be like Brotherhood or Revelations, those as I said before were not numbered titles which means they were rehashed versions of one and two just continuation of story and new elements of gameplay but not a pivotal way. You could probably skip Brotherhood and Revelations if you wanted too and not miss too much information between two and three I would imagine.  Three will be a full project with new content and maybe even a new assassin or even hopefully be setting the stage for Desmond to be the present day Assassin. (I haven't played Revelations yet so I am missing out on some of the story please don't ruin it for me lol)

  • one could argue that this is a short release time, but it seems like this game was pretty far in development when revelations was released.

  • *Spoiler alert (just in case)* What is it with you people?.. One, they're putting out games each year so they can meet the 2012 deadline. It wouldn't make sense if it came on in 2013 and if it did you all would still b*tch for that reason. Second, Assassin's creed 1 and 2 were made by a different ubisoft team (the main team) than Brotherhood and Revelations (
  • Assassin's Creed 3, Far cry 3 And COD Black Ops 2(guessed)........... Oh man!! This year gonna be the golden game year!!!

  • first people... they spent 3 years on this game so what do you mean just coming back to back with them, and second, revelations wasn't a waste. it told us more about Altair, Ezio, and the ones who came before. so stop complaining. if you don't think it going to be good then that's your loss, don't buy the game. sucks for you though!
