Assassin's Creed III Coming In October

Ubisoft today confirmed when it will release Assassin's Creed III this fall.

The game will arrive on October 30, 2012, the publisher said. No other details were announced.

"We will push the title a lot because it's a fantastic product that the team has been working for three years," said CEO Yves Guillemot. "What we have seen is just fabulous."

Ubisoft also said it shipped 7 million copies of Assassin's Creed Revelations so far through December 2011.

  • Ninja, ninja pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase?????

  • Oh god...the period between releases is waaay to short. It's not that the games aren't good but it's losing what made it a unique series, in other words it needs some serious innovation, a condition that also affects Call of Duty, I'm afraid.
  • I don't think this should really come as a surprise. I remember they said AC III was coming in 2012, to coincide with the whole "End of the World" conspiracy that the game's narrative has been working towards.

  • its funny how all the peole who talked said negative things about the series, buys it every year??? yeah, the yearly installments are making me questioning are they just putting it out to make money with a few upgrades, but every year the games get better and better from storylines to mechanics, except den defenses and desmond's journey...hated both of those...but i'm always excited for a new assassin's creed!!!!!

  • I thought Assasin's Creed: Revelations was Assassin's Creed III. Does that mean that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood wasn't Assassin's Creed II? I havn't played any of the games but I want to really bad.
  • Well I knew this was coming but I haven't even played Revelations yet. And since AC is a story driven game I feel really rushed to stay on top of the story in this series.

  • I hate when people label a series for being "milked" when it is GOOD. If the series didn't improve with every release and keep me wanting to play it then I would have no problem but seeing as it isn't just some these *** bags beloved map packs for 60 *** dollars I love it. It gives action and platforming the perfect balance!

  • Three Years...This better be some high quality Assassin game!

  • Have no interest in the franchise anymore.

  • wished they would have said what time period it was in but it really doesnt matter i love the assassins creed series and ill buy this one too

  • Although that is amazing news, I still need to pick up Revelations.

  • I'm so exited for this. I can't wait to find out who the new Assassin is. Hopefully Ezio will get a small playable role in the game like Altäir did in II and Revelations.

  • I'm begging... Make this your April cover!!!!

  • I'm still crossing my fingers for Modern England as the setting.

  • I don't think it's the series that's been "milked" I think it's Ezio's story that's been over done, Brotherhood was just a game that wasn't needed, I wish they just made it a DLC for Revelations honestly.

  • Assassin's Creed has failed since AC2.
  • Everyone is saying that it will be during the American Revolution. Then they hate cause it's not the French Revolution... Guys, almost right after the American Rev. the French Rev. happened.

But still, I would like Desmond to be the main playable character. (Spoiler) He could go around the United States finding a way to open the vault from the end of ACR. (Spoiler end) Every time he finds an artifact or something, he could have a flashback to an American Revolution soldier. Kinda like Ezio with the Masyaf Keys. (Spoiler) In the last multiplayer video for ACR, Daniel Cross injects a tracker to the MP Protagonist, and Vidic sends them after William Miles. Maybe Desmond could fight them in the singleplayer. (Spoiler end)

Either way, I will  definitely try to pre-order this first day that it is available. Hopefully 3 years of development will payoff... And I do think so.

  • I just hope they offer us Americans an awesome Collectors addition like  they did in Europe for Revelations! I love the AC titles and can't wait for this one!

  • Three years in development? Then, I hope this is the ACTUAL sequel to AC 2 with ACTUAL improvements as AC 2 was to AC 1. I skipped AC:R cause I absolutely detested AC:B. So can anyone tell me if there are any story elements that I need to know to understand this one?
  • Yeah! They've been developing it for 3 years. I expect the best AC ever!
