The lights are on
Looks like Twisted Metal is coming to the big screen.
According to a report from Deadline.com, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance co-director Brian Taylor has been asked to write and direct a live action film based off the classic car combat game. The report says the film will mimic the storyline from the game, with contestants battling it out in a tournament run by Calypso and the winner getting any wish granted.
The film reportedly includes characters Sweet Tooth and Doll Face so far.
A SCEA spokesperson confirmed to Game Informer the company has been in discussions with Sony Pictures Entertainment about a Twisted Metal movie, but would not share additional details at this time.
Series creator David Jaffe told us last week in an interview there are "no plans" regarding the future of the Twisted Metal franchise.

I had this idea when I was in 5th grade. I demand royalties.
They better stick to the games storyline if they do this! Not make it some Hollywood land crap... who am I kidding though...Ghost Rider? Really?
Could be good...
It would almost be another 'Deathrace', ick. And the battle would be boring as hell. I think this movie is going to suck.
This likely won't be any good. It should have some pretty cool explosions though.
It sounds great that they're making a movie of the Twisted Metal game.
