I never played Metal Gear Online. It was before I had a reliable internet source. Sounds like it was great fun..
Never got into online play
You post this article with an end of service as of Tomorrow ...
wow talk about late reminders.
This was actually a great game, and I am sad to see it go. Back when this came out I was crazy addicted to this after playing the main game 4 or 5 times, and outside of the dicks tea bagging all the time, it was pretty damn fun. I suppose I should give it one last ride before it closes
Well I'm glad I didn't want to get into the online component of MGS 4. For people that get games later due to major backlogs or cost stuff like this is a major boon. Total recall of GI's article on the longevity of online games.
quick!!!! someone make a REPLAY episode of this!!!
Besides Warhawk, MGO is my favorite multiplayer game of this generation. It's so unique and a lot of fun to play. I'll have to hop back on one last time like I did for MGO on PSN.
At least Konami supported this iteration of MGO for four years, as the original was available to play for six months.
I've owned Metal Gear Solid 4 for awile now but I've never tried the online component. I've been meaning to play through the single player campaign again but I'm not sure I was even aware that it had an online campaign (if I did know then I forgot).
If our economy was better there would be money for support. Sony would have sold more games, systems, and services. The euro is worth more than the dollar, and Europe is in trouble. This generation is suffering from cognitive dissonance. I believe this is a direct result. Someone at konami had to make a business decision.
Awwwwwwww! Come on! I was just about to buy MGS! I still will, but this is very disappointing. And, does this really remind anyone of the sort-of-recent article from GI about the longevity of online multiplayer?
i thought it already did everyone i knew tried to get on and couldnt
I'm surprised it was still going until now.
The service just ended 5 minutes ago. I saw it off, and I didn't think I would be this sad.
dang, right when i wanted to start playing the multiplayer, never got around to it.
Well that sucks i always wanted to try it out but i guees i never will now.
Probably why I keep playing Uncharted 2 online. Cause one day they will shut it down, and I still need all those trophies!
Sad to see the servers shutting down. I have played Metal Gear Online a long time ago but then quit. Feel sorry for the people who sill played to this date. Hopefully a new metal gear soon, or at least a game similar to the metal gear online experience.
Very sad to see it go. Had almost too much fun playing MGO.
