  • I wonder why they're doing this
  • I'm surprised there's still an active multiplayer community.
  • Damn, I wanted to come back to it eventually.
  • I tried it, but couldn't really get into it. Feel sorry for the people who still enjoy it though.
  • it was good while it lasted its been going for 4 yrs straight and time to pull the curtains time for rising to come and kick ass now

  • I enjoyed the game but the online was a bit lacking. It Really hasn't been on for long though. Thought it would outlast the life of the ps3. Mgs has a strong following. Weird

  • Thats sad I liked the online.I agre with other people that it was a bit not traditional but it was still good.I hope it comes back when they release the new MGS Rising Revengese.
  • This is a strong reason why from a 'console' MP side that there should be dedicated connections for play. That way you never has to worry about a 'server' going away and people can still play and enjoy a games online offering years later.
  • One of my favorite games of all time. However really never got into the online play.

  • Ouch. My brother just got really into the game about a month ago and just bought the expansions. Hopefully a new form of MGO appears in a new Metal Gear game down the road.
  • Never tried it, were there still a lot of people that played it?
  • Is the online stuff any good? I just got a PS3 like a week ago and I was holding off on MGS4 until I played through the others. I might have to get it before this is gone though.
  • :'(
  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I still haven't gotten my knife skill to level 3!

  • I had a hard time getting a game a year or two ago, so maybe now that it's closing I can get some good final matches. ^_^

  • I forgot Metal Gear Online was a thing. Oh well. I'm sure Kojima Productions will replace it with something else. Perhaps Metal Gear Rising will have an online component, or MGS 3D. Perhaps (the inevitable) MGS5?

The important thing is that we're still getting a Zone of the Enders HD collection, guys! There are a million online shooters out there, but how many amazing, gorgeous anime robot action titles are out there? Screw this noise - bring back Jehuty and Anubis!
  • Figures.  They were going to do it someday.

  • Wait...there was an online mode?
