Bethesda Honors Adam Adamowicz

Last week, Bethesda concept artist Adam Adamowicz passed away from cancer. The company has since published a tribute to him online by showing off his work.

"His artwork and creativity defined our games in so many ways. Many of you have seen his work and seen his unbelievable talents," Bethesda said. "But many of you never got to see who he was as a person. He was full of life. Always drawing, always creating, and always the most entertaining person in the room."

The website displays numerous sets of Adamowicz's work from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Oblivion DLC, and Fallout 3 in addition to stories from co-workers.

Head over to Bethesda's website to see what people had to say.

  • Please check my blog tomorrow I'll wright my own personal memorial to Adam Adamowics.

Sorry if what i wrote offended people i was not aware of his passing and feel very bad now. It was just a bad.... horrible distasteful joke. I SHOULD READ BEFORE I TYPE
  • Love all the art he did, and glad that they are making a point to point out how good it was.

  • Great art, great man :)

  • How old was he?
  • Sure wish he was still here, I wonder if Bethesda can continue to make games the same?
  • I was just on Bethesda's site and noticed this. His artwork his amazing, there's a reason TES's art style is among my personal favourite.

EDIT: Glad you fixed it :)
  • I remember hearing about someone who passed away who worked on, I think, WoW and they build a little shrine or something for him in the game. Maybe they could do the same for Adamowicz.
  • My prayers are with him and his family. I lost my grandmother to cancer, she, for the most part, raised me. This hits pretty close to home. I put a 50$ in the tip cup.
  • Still gaming must continue, despite the loses it has suffered. Adam seems to have some excellent work done for gaming and his work shall continue to live in video games.
  • Wow, that's great that they're honoring him, he seems like he was a great guy
  • judging by the videos of his work in bethesda's site, this man created most, if not all, of the artwork that gives bethesda's 3 best games oblivion, fallou3 and skyrim their distinctive feel and character...after watching those videos i realized how much of the experience that those 3 games offer we really owe to this man..RIP dude n i really hope bethesda finds someone just as worthy to replace him or else were f**cked

  • Bethesda should release a book of his concept art. I would definitely buy it.
  • Sad day

  • Man,that is really sad.

  • Good work Bethesda; nice tribute.

  • he will be greatly missed

  • From all the comment i've read he sounded like an amazing, upbeat person that everyone loved. As an aspiring concept artist It would have nice to meet him or just watch him draw for like a day. I absolutely adore all concept art and the games he's done the art for. Best wishes to his friends and family. He and his creative mind shall be missed dearly. :(

  • Who gives a *** about Whitney Houston? I'm gonna mourn the loss of Adam instead. R.I.P. Adam. The games will never be the same without you....

  • IMO Skyrim had the best looking dragons of any game to date. As an artist I have great respect for the man. May God rest his soul.

  • Bethesda is a class act
