Quartet Of Fighting Fantasy Games Coming To iOS

Epic Games has announced that the Make Something Unreal Live contest will task four iOS developers with making games based on the popular Fighting Fantasy role-playing gamebooks.

Over 70 books have been published under the Fighting Fantasy name, and four start-up developers got to choose which title they wanted to base their game on. The four chosen books are The Warlock of Firetop Mountain,  The Citadel of Chaos, Armies of Death, and the book that features the grody dude above, Deathtrap Dungeon. There's no worse dungeon than a deathtrap dungeon...

The studios will be working on their games up until Gadget Show Live 2012, a Birmingham-based consumer show taking place April 10-15. During the show the studios will reveal their games and put the finishing touches on them live in front of the show's 100,000+ attendees. Watching developers finish up some iOS games doesn't sound all that exciting to me personally, but if they feature anything as creatively revolting as that freaky bug monster, I look forward to seeing the final products.

  • That monster looks wicked! I wouldn't mind checking out a game featuring this monstrous beast(bug, or whatever it's supposed to be) myself.

    Great artwork. Very creative.

  • I would like to see the development in process...but IOS games generally tend to disappoint me. They either have great graphics and terrible controls, or great controls and terrible graphics.
  • May the games begin!

  • Proper psyched about this. I used to love those books.

  • Hi Ag3nt Shadow

I'm the Team Captain of Commando Kiwi (I'm making The Warlock of Firetop Mountain) and I hope I can deliver with the graphics and controls for you; as this was also my biggest concern.

    Cheers
