Rumor: $10 Mass Effect 3 DLC Already Available For Purchase

We're still about a month away from the release of Mass Effect 3, but it looks like BioWare's DLC plans for the sci-fi RPG may already be in motion.

According to a picture of a receipt sent to Joystiq by a reader, GameStop is already selling a piece of Mass Effect 3 DLC titled "From Dust." The reader says the DLC cost him $10.

Of course, it should come as no surprise that BioWare has Mass Effect 3 DLC in the works. Executive producer Casey Hudson discussed some of the DLC plans in an interview with me last month.

Many fans are speculating that whatever this "From Dust" DLC is, it may be available immediately on day one of Mass Effect 3's release, but EA has yet to confirm any details. We'll update if they do.

    People just need to stop buying DLC. Please. I'm so sick of paying for things that would've been unlockables years ago. 6 months later here comes the "DURR GOTY EDITION BUY IT NAO". I almost never buy DLC unless I know there's a lot of content and it's worth it. Look at Undead Nightmare. Good price, awesome content. Rockstar does good DLC, everyone else.. Not so much.

    If really hope Nintendo will take a different route with DLC, but I'm sure they will. If not...

    Ok, the Collector's edition is supposed to come with an extra mission and character (or something like that). Before we get all angry, isn't it possible that "From Dust" is the extra stuff being included with the Collector's Edition for free. Maybe they're just giving the people who don't buy the CE a chance to get the extra content.

    I hope this game turns out to be great but nothing I have seen has shown me it will anything more than the same downgrade Mass Effect 2 was from the first. The Mass Effect serious is just another example of whenever EA gets any game that is successful they prioritize profit over at least making a better game than the previous. Don't get me wrong, making a profit is obviously important but EA is just another company is only sees profit and cares nothing about quality of the game.

    They call DLC but in reality it´s pieces of the game, I see a lot of it nowadays game companies release the game in pieces so they can get more money out of us.This game isn´t even released -.- to as a costumer this is called stealing.

    Well, I popped in Kingdoms of Amalur, and it made me sad that there was DLC that was armor. This sounds a bit bigger, but I don't have my hopes up.

    So tired of people complaining. When the game is finished they start working on DLC. If they can finish DLC between the time the game goes GOLD and is sold on store shelves they can make it available to the customer as early as possible... Stop complaining.

    Now, if all this exclusive pre-release DLC was spread all over EA and their games, I wouldn't mind, but now I'm wondering, is this BioWare's doing or are they being EA's giunea pig and we can expect more of this from future EA games?

    This pisses me off I know it takes awhile for a game to release and they have time to make DLC but having DLC on the release of the game is a slap in the face like it could have been in the game, but nope we want more of your money.

    A month early? Give it to us for free at least or a code within the case to download it.

    I have a feeling it might be DLC that's packed with new copies of the game like Zaeed was in ME2. GameStop sells DLC missing from used games separately.
