Madden Super Bowl Simulation Is Pretty Good

Are you someone who likes to bet on the big game? Then you might want to sim your next Super Bowl in Madden.

EA Sports said last week the New York Giants would win Super Bowl XLVI and that quarterback Eli Manning would win the playoff MVP award, and that's just what happened yesterday night.

This marks the seventh time in the nine Super Bowl attempts that the Madden simulator predicted correctly since EA started doing so in 2004. The two times Madden was wrong in picking the winner was last year taking the Steelers over the Packers and in 2008 with the Patriots over the Giants.

Below are some player stats from the most recent Super Bowl simulation provided by EA:

Final Score:

- Actual score: Giants 21, Patriots 17

 - Sim score: Giants 27, Patriots 24

Eli Manning:

- Actual: 30/40 for 296 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT (MVP)

- Sim: 25/39 for 342 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT (MVP)

Tom Brady:

- Actual: 27/41 for 276 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

- Sim: 28/42 for 327 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

  • This is crazy, i know what im using to bet from now on!

  • Dang, purely coincidence? Or maybe EA has really got something going o with their simulation....
  • Holy crap, man could hit it rich with this kind of info. Now if only nobody else knew about this....
  • I'd still rather use the Delorean to secure my picks.
  • Well, that wasn't exactly a rocket science pick there on either account.  But it's all good - I'm just wondering why it picked the Steelers last year xDDD

Actually I bet my streak is better than theirs - and I don't know what I'm doing.

  • Madden still sucks. Sorry, but it needed to be said.
  • No one ever said Madden wasn't accurate.  It just needs to address legacy issues in EVERY damn game.

  • I don't personally like games, but with this and the Madden Curse, well, one does have to wonder.

  • Now I know how to bet for next year's Superbowl.

  • Go Giants! WOO! Maybe I can bet some money that I don't have next year and win. Don't fail me next year Madden!
  • This was a pretty accurate sim,i need to start using this information for betting on the game.

  • madden was right again

  • Wow, did it really predict a quarterback would be MVP? Really? No one could have ever predicted that. AMAZING!
  • wow...EA is pretty good at simulating. But still not perfect.

  • it did a good job predicting the outcome of the game, congratulations to the Giants

  • Now if they can make it playable by a real life person

  • I think it is incredibly interesting that human beings can be fairly accurately presented by a group of stats and figures. I think we as humans like to think we are far more superior and intricate than that, yet when looking at something like this, the stats and figures pretty much speak for themselves. Bravo Madden.
  • I'll say they (EA) are 80% accurate on their predictions, even on FIFA series..

  • If the simulations for the World Series, Stanley Cup, World Cup, etc. were to occur, that would be just plain neat.

  • Ugh. I'm one of very few people who actually wanted Tom Brady to win. Jeez, I hate how that game went down.
