Madden Super Bowl Simulation Is Pretty Good

Are you someone who likes to bet on the big game? Then you might want to sim your next Super Bowl in Madden.

EA Sports said last week the New York Giants would win Super Bowl XLVI and that quarterback Eli Manning would win the playoff MVP award, and that's just what happened yesterday night.

This marks the seventh time in the nine Super Bowl attempts that the Madden simulator predicted correctly since EA started doing so in 2004. The two times Madden was wrong in picking the winner was last year taking the Steelers over the Packers and in 2008 with the Patriots over the Giants.

Below are some player stats from the most recent Super Bowl simulation provided by EA:

Final Score:

- Actual score: Giants 21, Patriots 17

 - Sim score: Giants 27, Patriots 24

Eli Manning:

- Actual: 30/40 for 296 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT (MVP)

- Sim: 25/39 for 342 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT (MVP)

Tom Brady:

- Actual: 27/41 for 276 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

- Sim: 28/42 for 327 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

Ahmad Bradshaw:

- Actual: 17 for 72 yards, 1 TD

- Sim: 21 for 82 yards, 1 TD

BenJarvus Green-Ellis:

- Actual: 10 for 44 yards, 0 TD

- Sim: 13 for 41 yards, 0 TD

Lawrence Tynes:

- Actual: 2/2

- Sim: 2/2

Stephen Gostkowski:

- Actual: 1/1

- Sim: 1/1

Justin Tuck:

- Actual: 2 sacks

- Sim: 2 sacks

    Well, that wasn't exactly a rocket science pick there on either account.  But it's all good - I'm just wondering why it picked the Steelers last year xDDD

    Actually I bet my streak is better than theirs - and I don't know what I'm doing.

    No one ever said Madden wasn't accurate.  It just needs to address legacy issues in EVERY damn game.

    I think it is incredibly interesting that human beings can be fairly accurately presented by a group of stats and figures. I think we as humans like to think we are far more superior and intricate than that, yet when looking at something like this, the stats and figures pretty much speak for themselves. Bravo Madden.

    If the simulations for the World Series, Stanley Cup, World Cup, etc. were to occur, that would be just plain neat.

    Ugh. I'm one of very few people who actually wanted Tom Brady to win. Jeez, I hate how that game went down.
