Is Outernauts Insomniac's Next Game?
Looks like the developer behind Resistance and Overstrike has another project under its EA Partners deal.
An Internet sleuth on NeoGAF discovered the studio recently trademarked "Outernauts" and also purchased the domain names Outernauts-Game.com and Outernauts-Game.net, etc.
Additionally, a website for EA Partners was discovered called "EAP Marketing FY13 Home Page" apparently created by Phil Marineau, director of marketing at EA. The website, which has since been edited, listed the following EA Partners projects:
- The Secret World
- Overstrike
- Populous
- Outernauts
- Respawn
The Secret World is being developed by Funcom while Insomniac Games is currently working on Overstrike and Outernauts. Respawn is of course developing its unannounced project. The last game on the list is a new, unannounced Populous game, which as NeoGAF points out, could be a Facebook/iOS title instead of a console release.
In March last year, Insomniac started a new division within the company called Insomniac Click to focus on mobile and social games. Outernauts could be for those platforms.
