BioWare Hosting Guild Summit For Star Wars: The Old Republic

Say what you will about MMO players, but you can't accuse them of being shy when it comes to providing feedback. Visit any game's official forum – especially right after a patch is released – and you'll see thread after thread of players questioning decisions about re-balancing tweaks, suggestions about endgame content, and the occasional constructive criticism in the form of "Is your entire studio brain dead?". BioWare and EA recognize that this kind of give and take between developer and player is critical in maintaining an MMO over the long term, and they're taking steps to do it right. This March, select guild leaders from Star Wars: The Old Republic are being invited to visit Austin and talk about the game over a few days.

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Guild Summit is taking place from March 4-6 in Austin, Texas. Attendees (either guild leaders or an officially designated representative) will be able to give the team feedback in person through Q&A sessions and roundtable discussions. They'll also get a chance to see upcoming game content and features and learn about the developers' plans for the Old Republic's future.

If you haven't been invited, there's still a chance you can get in. If you're 21 or older and are leading a guild in the game, fill out the survey here to be considered; applications will be accepted through February 10.

  • sounds pretty cool for the guild leaders lol

  • I can see a guild war breaking out, the nerds will start throwing keyboards at each other.
  • That is brilliant.

  • Wow, that's really cool. I guess after seeing that WoW In Real Life video, running a guild is something along the lines of a full-time job. Hopefully they can improve the game in the ways that they want to
  • People like blood sausage too, people are morons.
  • Awesome ill let my guild leader know, he will enjoy spending money to go tell people how to make their game better.

  • Great way to get feedback straight from the die-hards that play the game.

  • Did GameInformer's guild get an invite?

  • I bet some of the biggest ones will only be invited

  • This should be interesting. I wonder if any of the GI guys will go?

  • I know nothing about this game mainly because i haven't been home to look at it
