The Simpsons Arcade Game Confirmed

by Dan Ryckert on Feb 01, 2012 at 06:40 AM

[Update]: Konami confirmed that the Simpsons Arcade Game comes to Xbox Live Arcade on Friday, February 3 and PlayStation Network the following Tuesday. It will cost 800 Microsoft points or $9.99. It is free for PlayStation Plus subscribers as noted below.

The game includes four-player online cooperative play, new modes, and additional bonus content featuring a never-before-seen Japanese version of the game, view classic flyers and posters, and a characters guide.

[Original Story] Last November, we reported on a rumor regarding the classic Simpsons Arcade Game coming to PSN. This rumor is now a reality, as today's Playstation Blog update confirms that it will hit the service on February 7 free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Since quarters won't be necessary any more, maybe us budget-conscious Simpsons fans may actually get a chance to pass the graveyard level.

I've been hoping for this for quite some time now, so this comes as great news. I guess now is the time to start petitioning for Bonestorm and Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge.
