Launch Day PlayStation Vita Bundle Announced

Sony revealed today a new, limited edition bundle for the PlayStation Vita that includes a memory card and PSN game.

According to a statement on the PlayStation Blog, a new PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi bundle at launch includes an 8GB Vita memory card, an AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one free 250MB session, and a PlayStation Network game for $299. Sony did not detail what game would be available as part of this bundle.

Additionally, if you pre-ordered the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, Sony is now including an AT&T DataConnect Pass, and a PlayStation Network game. This bundle still includes the limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card, and Little Deviants game.

  • nice! I look forward to purchasing

  • Not trying to put the vita or anybody down but inform. I read a fellow commenter's comment on ign who said that there is a catch where you have to actually activate the 3g with at&t and make an account blah blah blah THEN you get the free game and memory THROUGH mail like a rebate or something. The credibility of this? Idk but it would make sense on at&t's part to nab some peeps in. That said, i will be there at launch even though i'm not a big fan of long ass lines lol.
  • Man, to bad I'm broke from preordering other games... :( but one day I'll get the Vita! :D

  • honestly, i don't think many people will pay $300 for a handheld system especially when it's not selling well. I would just buy a PS3 for that. I would think they would learn from the 3DS's pricetag losses, and that was even less :/
  • so did they drop the price on the first edition bundle to 299 as well?
  • This deal should really help the Vita once it comes to the States.

Now if only I could get a job.....

  • one day
  • I don't know, I'm still on the fence about buying this. I have a 3DS, which I barely play as it is, but the software for Vita looks really fun.

  • not gonna get a Vita until it's cracked and there's good CFW. that's right, i said that. Vita won't be worth Dick to me unless i can replay my entire PS2 library on it.

  • I WAS going to get the original WiFi bundle for my birthday, but this is actually a really good deal. But I don't want a 3G model... Oh crap, what do I do?
  • no thanks i am happy with the wifi model i ordered!

  • I'm still not sure on this. It sounds like a sweet deal, but the games on the PSN range between $5 to $15 with some at $40-$50. I don't want to sound like a fanboy (especially since I will buy a Vita at some point) but I think Nintendo has the whole bundle thing wrapped up better: 1) Memory Nintendo has been packaging 2GB memory cards with the 3DS since the start. Sony is now doing this so you can feel comfortable buying the system at $300.00. Now I know they are giving an 8GB card, but that doesn't change the fact that when you use up the space you have to buy a specific card (Sony brand) for it. Any SD card will work with the 3DS and they're dirt cheap. 2) One month free of 3G I know that the 3DS doesn't have 3G but what it does have is the free Nintendo Zone and since Sony's partership is with AT&T this comparison makes sense. With Nintendo Zone, any restaurant that uses AT&T, an AT&T store or any Best Buy store gets free internet. With Sony, after the month is over you have to pay to use AT&T(which we all know their 3G is crap). 3)Free game Now because Sony is charging so much they decided to give you a free game. Now I don't care what the free game is, but at a value of around $15 or even $40? And that is only ONE game. With Nintendo, everyone who bought the system at $250.00 got 20 free games. And if you break that up, the 10 NES games amount to $50 because Nintendo charges $5 for an NES game, and the 10 GBA games amount to $80 because GBA uses the SNES engine and Nintendo charges $8 for an SNES game. That comes to a value of $130 in free games. So yes Nintendo has the better bundle (or had the better launch bundle) and i'm sure alot of people know this. And yes what Sony is offering is a good deal and I will pick one up but I think they need to look at Nintendo and see how they do bundles.
  • Damn it! I don't have $300. Grrrr...

Maybe I'll just buy the bundle they announce at E3 (fingers crossed they do).
  • A memory card and a PSN game...how is that a limited edition? Plus if you look at that sticker in the bottom right you have to activate the AT&T trial 3G to download the free game.
  • Handhelds lol
  • There should be a memory card in EVERY Vita system, not just 3g ones, especially since some games like Uncharted need memory cards to save.

  • im gonna need to get me some money

  • If I have the money I might get this, but probably not.

  • The 8GB card alone almost makes it worth the money. Sadly, it seems like the rest of the stuff is dependent on you setting up a 3G account, which I wouldn't do. They say $55 bonus value, and it's only $50 more, so technically, it's a better deal, even if you want the wi-fi. However, if you take off the data session and the game, it's not really worth it. This also completely undermines the First Edition Bundle, since it comes with a larger memory card. I guess if you really wanted the case. You can pick up Little Deviants with this limited bundle and come out ahead, case aside. It's nice to see the 3G fans are getting some cool stuff, but what about us cheap people? I don't want 3G, don't use 3G, and have no desire to pay extra for it. Where's my bundle? Maybe give us a Second Edition Bundle, with all the stuff in the First Edition, plus an 8GB card, minus 3G, for $300. I might buy that.
