The lights are on
BlizzCon will be back in 2013, but this year Blizzard is not holding the now semi-annual convention to focus on game production.
Fans are likely disappointed, but it's hard to complain too much when it means that Blizzard will be focusing on getting Diablo III, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria out in 2012.
Blizzard also wants to devote more attention to the 2012 Battle.net World Championship which is taking place in Asia at the end of the year.

nice.....atleast it will help get their games out sooner
There feeling the heat now that they have serious competion in the new star wars mmo. they cant be like jabba just racking in the money
Good, with any luck we'll see a return of Lost Vikings.
I think this is a good move for Blizzard. Focus on expanding your core business and worry about the extras later
If it means getting to play Diablo 3 and Mists of Pandaria sooner I'm all for this.
Hell, it's about time.
It would be ridiculous for people to complain about this, but I'm sure it will happen.
I doubt it's so the have that little extra time to work on the games, it's just that they have nothing new to show. None of their previously announced games have come out yet and the only thing they have left to show is there mmo.
Probably a wise decision. BlizzCon may be a ton of fun, but it's really more of a stage to make big, sweeping announcements than anything else. Since they've already got gears in motion for all three of their major franchises, there's probably just nothing they could announce that would be worth the investment to make BlizzCon happen this year.
That said, I'm still hoping to see them announce a new Lost Vikings game in my lifetime >_<
Well this is a little disappointing, but if it means we'll all be playing our favorite games sooner then it has my complete support.
Yes! Just please give us Diablo III already!!!
Probably not a bad idea when you consider just how many projects Blizz is working on, and that they are still making major tweaks to D3. I'm surprised they even are able to find the time to update WoW, work on a new MMO, and starcraft and Diablo.
I'm not complaining if Blizzard really thinks they need the time, and they wouldn't have called off BlizzCon unless they really thought they needed the time.
