QuakeCon 2012 Dates Announced

Bethesda today announced the dates for its annual QuakeCon gaming event held in Dallas, Texas.

QuakeCon takes places at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas on August 2 - 5. The event is open to the public and attendance is free.

QuakeCon will give gamers a taste of what's to come from id Software and parent company Bethesda, which typically has made announcements and revealed exclusive gameplay footage. QuakeCon also hosts several gaming-related panels and includes a keynote speech from id Software's John Carmack.

  • That had better be a massive hotel, tons of people will probably be going seeing how it's free admission.
  • Hopefully some more Prey 2 stuff. Prey 2 doesn't seem innovative at all to me, seems kind of generic to me actually, but I really love the setting.

  • what?

    its not in austin texas!!!

  • Two "C"'s in the title.

  • With 100% less Doom 4 this year. honestly id Hasn't made anything relevant to it's core IPs in years why even bother with Quakecon?
  • And there will also be the awesome Steam sale again, right? Because that just so takes place one day after my birthday.

  • Awesome I only live about 2 hours away from Dallas. I'll definitely try to check this out

  • But i'm not in Dallas, and have no means to get there. Well, there is always next year.

  • I really hope they announce Fallout 4! :)

IDC If it takes them 2 years to release it. I just want the announcement and maybe a teaser.

  • I wish cool video game stuff would happen closer to where I live.

  • Guess who's family goes down to Dallas every first week in August. This guy's! Guess who is probably going to Quakecon this year for the first time. Also this guy!

  • Looks like I'll need to make my way to Dallas in August.

  • will any of the GI crew be there? Hopefully I can go and also hopefully meet one of yal!

  • A Carmack keynote and (presumably) Doom 4. Should be cool.
  • One of the perks of living in Dallas, can't wait.
