Konami To Close Hudson Soft

Bomberman creator Hudson Soft will be dissolved and absorbed into parent company Konami, according to a report.

Andriasang has translated a Japanese filing which states that Hudson Soft will be no more on March 1. Last year Konami bought out the company and assigned it to develop mobile titles for the publisher.

At this time it's unknown what will become of Hudson Soft properties like Bomberman and Bonk, but we imagine that they would easily carry on seeing as how Konami already owns the company to begin with.

  • Nooooo, not mobile titles.

No wait, this is a merciful death for Hudson.  Poor Bomberman, how long has it been?

  • Hudson Soft still exists... who knew?
  • Aww, couldn't they just go back to Nintendo?

  • The only Hudson Soft game that I ever played regularly was Adventure Island. That game was freaking difficult. I loved it, though.

  • more closings...
  • I haven't heard that name in quite a while. Good ol' Nintendo memories came to mind.
  • I haven't played Bomberman: Act Zero, but it looks like the worst game ever made!

  • I will miss Hudson Soft I loved Mario Party
  • I am ready for a new Bonk's game, and a kick ass new Bomberman.  It has been too long...

  • End of an era.  Sad....

  • RIP hudson soft :(

  • Such a shame, used to be a big Hudson Soft fan back in the day

  • I do hope Bomberman does just go to Konami. It's such an underrated series and there hasn't been a worthwhile entry in years. Make that change!

  • Bomberman= My Childhood.

  • Can't say I'm surprised. Hudson Soft has gone into the background of gaming for the past few years. It's saddening, but at least Konami's absorbing them intead of just closing them down and firing everyone.

Bomberman can totally come back. Eventually. No, I don't count Act Zero.

  • Yeah it is an end of era... I would cry but for some reason the tears would not come. Is it because Bomberman games never was that good to begin with? Hahahaha I'm joking. I am truly sad about this.

  • bomberman 64 is in my top 10 favorite games of all time. sad

  • That's a shame considering how much I loved Bomberman 64.
