The lights are on
After a three month hiatus, Bethesda today said the classic first-person shooter Doom is now available for download again on Xbox Live Arcade.
In October 2011, Doom was pulled from the Marketplace store and no explanation was ever given. One theory is that Doom on Xbox Live was originally published by Activision prior to Bethesda Softworks' parent company Zenimax Media acquiring id Software and was causing a legal issue that has since been resolved.
Regardless, the game is back on sale for 400 Microsoft Points.
Okay, Doom is back on XBL. Can we get Phantasy Star Portable 2 back on PSN? Please Sony and/or Sega?
Yeah once you said BETHESDA did it I figured it was pulled because of the acquirement.
Good though, one game back on the market...
5 bucks? Sold.
I never knew it left. o_O
Beating Doom from start to finish with no cheat codes is one of my life accomplishments.
Now I can finally get it. Seriously, $5 for Doomm is awesome. Although...I still do have my old SNES cartridge of it...
Hey I've played this game before!!!
Very nice. Weird that they just pulled it and didn't give an explanation.
PSN?? ... oh well. I have the original for PC. That's the only way to play it really. Love this game!
Doom can run on your browser for free. As well as Hexen and the other one I always forget about.
Good freaking game.
Just in time... for me to not even notice.
I was wondering where it went... I guess I'll download it. Still, I consider Marathon to be better than Doom in every way.
Sweet, I had seen this game and wanted to get it, but then it just dissappered.
Maybe one day they'll release it on PSN...
I remember how the cover used to make parents flip
nope
