Is it just me or is anybody at GI getting tired of the bleak post-apocalyptic or a zombie infested world setting in games?

From the perspective of long time Gamers such as yourselves, do you feel a games aesthetics and visuals can give some credibility to an otherwise bad game, or on the other end, draw back an otherwise great game? I ask this as I've recently been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It's a great game, but when juxtaposed to Battlefield 3, another game I've been frequenting, I can't help but feel as though I'm enjoying a lesser product, even though the game as a whole may be superior. Then there are games such as Arkham City, which from a technical perspective, aren't the most beautiful in terms of raw power, but from their Art Design. Any thoughts?
