Mortal Kombat Coming To Vita

Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios has announced that it is bringing all of the vicious action of Mortal Kombat to the Vita, and then some.

The game will come out for Sony's upcoming handheld some currently unspecified time in March. Mortal Kombat for the Vita will not only feature the features and content of the console game, but also some new stuff specifically designed for the handheld.

  • Cool

  • Well, this is cool! Now if only we could get more DLC for it on the consoles :P

  • This sounds awesome. Sadly, I just can't enjoy a fighting game on a handheld. Worrying about breaking the buttons always stops me from going crazy Like I would on a console.
  • Cool. Ripping people apart on the go.

  • Excellent. Flawless victory.  Next... Skyrim and I am completely sold.

  • Still not going to make me purchase a Vita. I'm still on the edge whether to get the 3DS as well.
  • This is good to see, Vita will need all the big name franchises it can get if it's going to stand a chance. Now if we can get confirmation of that call of duty game that was hinted a while back that would be awsome. Say what you will about the call of duty series, but you know that a portable Modern Warfare game will be a huge Vita seller.
  • I hate when they do this. Giving a console more attention than the other one is bad. Now, making the portable version even more robust than console version, I just cannot accep that. All that pricey DLC now available within the same package...

  • That is quite awesome, though I'm not sure if/when I will buy the Vita. I was going to save up for a 3DS because I have +50 DS games on my backlog... also, the newest handheld I have ever owned was an SP.

  • I'm a fan of the box art. It's extremely smart to showcase every added character coming to the Vita; with all of the DLC plus Kratos. Though it is a tad crowded.

Oh, and now I'm going to buy a Vita. You win, Sony.

  • This is great. Was already planning on getting the Vita. Pretty nice to know there is going to be a fighting game available that has already proven to be great.

  • They should have a Japanese consumer as a playable character, as well as an actual PS Vita so you can perform fatalities on it. (I KID! I KID!)

But really, the Vita looks like it's going to have some very strong third party support. 2 fighting games, Madden/2K Sports, and the inevitable CoD release.
  • Am I the only one who thinks Mortal Kombat games has nothing to bring to the table besides "new" characters to play? These games remind me of Sonic games. Nothing exciting. They need something cool and unique to bring to the table but I am super glad it will be on the Vita.

  • mortal kombat series;awsome

    vita;not so awsome

    read my blog abbout it:)

  • I hope it has that interconnectivity thing between the ps3 and vita like they promoted with this game.  I would love to have all my data be able to carry over to the vita and vice versa.

  • far from whats needed to make me buy a vita till i see a price drop

  • That looks great! Maybe I should get a Vita after all...

  • Another reason to get the Vita

  • Let the Kombat continue!! FINISH HIM!!!!

  • Sweeeeeet.
