The Next Superman Game Could Have Looked Like This

Before shutting down in 2009, developer Factor 5 was working on a Superman game for also-now-defunct publisher Brash Entertainment. That title never saw the light of day, but some new character designs from it have found their way online.

The images come via SiliconEra who dug them up from Daveed Kaplan, a designer who had been working on the project before it died. The character models on display include Superman, Lex Luthor (pictured above in his notorious powersuit), Darkseid, General Zod, and more.

Check out the SiliconEra report to see all of the models. Is the dream of a good Superman game dead for good?

  • There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about Superman, but the most common one is that he's untouchable until he's exposed to Kryptonite. No, he cannot juggle planets, and yes, he can be hurt. Was that true in Siegel and Shuster? Yes. Was it true in the crappy 50s/60s comics? Unfortunately, no, but we shouldn't judge the character by his worst interpretation, because Arkham City was nowhere near Adam West.

  • i don't even know what to say to this except thank god it never got released

  • I've never been a big Superman fan, and definitely not a fan of pseudo-Iron Man Lex Luthor, but I wouldn't have minded maybe a Superman game. Maybe it could have been a good one for once. As long as Beenox keeps making Spider-Man games, I'll be happy in the superhero department.

  • Probably wouldn't have been like Arkham City
