Skyrim Streaming On Android Tablets

by Ben Reeves on Jan 09, 2012 at 01:01 PM

During its press conference at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Nvidia proved the power of its new quad-core Tegra chipset and its Ice Cream Sandwich platform by playing Bethesda’s Skyrim on an Asus Android tablet. Confused by all those tech savvy words? We’ll say it again. Nvidia. Tablet. Skyrim.

During Nvidia’s press conference, the graphics processor company brought professional gamer Johnathan Wendel, A.K.A. Fatal1ty, on the stage to play Skyrim on an Asus Transfomer Prime tablet. Nvidia was actually running Skyrim off a PC, and using the streaming service Splashtop to project the game onto the tablet, but the game looked like it was running pretty smooth and playable even through wifi, and we can’t wait to test this functionality while on the road.

Nvidia also demoed live multiplayer FPS gamplay on tablets for the first time with the Android game Shadowgun. Pretty slick for a little tablet. Welcome to the future.
