The lights are on
If Activision decides to do a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, they now have the website name to do it.
As spotted by Fusible.com, the publisher recently acquired the domain name BlackOps2.com for an undisclosed amount. The domain name was originally registered shortly after the first Black Ops title was announced in May 2010, however the owner was never identified.
The report points out the original registration was under "Domains by Proxy" by GoDaddy but has now switched to internet brand protection company MarkMonitor, an Activision client. In August 2011, Activision acquired the domain names all the way up to Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare 6, however, a "Black Ops 2" web registration was missing at the time.
It should be noted that URL registrations don't necessarily mean the games will ever be developed and released. Activision may be future-proofing its brands in case it decides to go forward with them.

Cod:Black ops 2 in stores everywhere this winter......
Black Ops 2? Total pass on that one
How interesting...
Black Ops was terrible. Don't make another one.
Black Ops was terrible. Don't make another one. Better yet, don't have Treyarch make anymore Call of Duty games.
That's too bad. The more of these come out the more faith I loose in humanity.
im honestly gonna buy this just for zombies. . .i wanna know what happens after moon.
IF we keep buying the same crap year after year they won't ever update it. I don't hate CoD for the sake of hating it....I just want them to at the VERY least update the engine!
Well i don't care for mw3 as much as black ops, i hope a sequel to black ops comes out at the end of this year.
Oh my gawd, never saw this coming, Activision being unpredictable as ever!
I wish I ownex that domain name!
More ZOMBIES! I'm happy
I imagined a rainy day like no other. Slowly moving towards it's eternal rest, a casket being carried by men who were on top of the world not to long ago. Wearing egyptian cotton and drinking champagne like the richest in the world. Only to find themselves broke with agony, defeat and sorrow. They all look at each other, knowing what one is thinking. One of them replies, " We could've done better, if only greed didn't ruin us." With an agreeing nod from the other.
The rain beating down on the casket like a ritual african drum. Majestically waiting on it's throne for it's eternal rest. The gathered are crying, trying to figure out what happened.
But oddly there were two unnoticed among the gathered, victoriously smiling.
"We knew this day was near.", whispers one of the men.
"I couldn't agree more." Says the other.
As they gaze upon the fallen with great joy, one couldn't help but piss all over the casket.
"What are you doing!", says one of the men.
"Giving it the bath of our treatment." Says the other.
The gathered are in shock from what they have just encountered.
"You had it all coming!", says one of the men. "You knew this day will come!", he continued. "Now look at you. Asking yourselves what happened. I tell you what happened. You got greedy! All we wanted to do is continue making quality games. And now look. You are burying your greedy creation."
One of the gathered asks, "What can we do?".
"Nothing!!!", says one of the men. "Did you see what's out there."
"No", says one of the gathered.
One of the men replies, "Then you are still too far up your chocolate starfish to even notice that EA has made one the best looking games in Battlefield 3. You can not compete with that. There is no coming back for you. You already buried one franchise."
The gathered look battered and defeated. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't put up a fight.
As the trumpeter played the fallen song, the two individuals walk away to an awaiting limo. Smiling, laughing and enjoying the moment when they last told them they were making a big mistake. Now those words came to fruition.
The limo pulls away and the credits roll.
R.I.P.
Call of Duty
I just hope they keep the strike packages lol.
It will be great if the zombies have weapons like lets say solder zombies.. hmmmm!
Does it surprise anyone they're (most likely) making another Black Ops?
No. Just....no.
I don't really see how a sequel would work... I thought Black Ops was just over.
