Zen Pinball Tilts The 3DS Next Week

The greatest pinball game in history is coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop next week, complete with new 3D visuals and some classic tables.

Zen Pinball (also known as Pinball FX 2 on Xbox Live) is one of the great examples of a small studio thriving in the new world of digital distribution. By continuing to build on its base with a steady stream of new tables and brilliant licensing moves (like the game's Marvel tables), Zen Pinball has become a favorite of many of the GI staff. Now, we'll be able to play on our 3DSs.

Zen Pinball will release for 3DS on January 12 for $6.99. Included in the price are four classic tables: Earth Defense, Eldorado, Excalibur, and Shaman. As you would expect, developer Zen Studios plans to keep the game stocked with a steady stream of DLC in the coming months. If you own a 3DS, put this right at the top of your DLC wishlist.

  • I MUST BUY THIS... eventually... whenever I buy a 3DS card thingy... BUT SOON!
  • Possibly one of the better arcade games available.

  • Should I buy Pinabll FX2? Ever since it came out, it seems Pinball is coming back in a big way
  • I've always liked pinball. Wonder when Zen Studios will announce that new rhythm game?

  • Getting!

  • I'll stick to buying downloadable games on xbox and ps3

  • I will buy

  • $6.99, done.

  • I own Pinball FX2 for the 360, but I don't remember the El Dorado or Shaman tables. Must be exclusive to Zen Pinball.

Anyway, this is an insta-buy, for sure.

  • This is definitely cool news, I love zen pinball, actually marvel pinball.

I hope they come out with the marvel tables..

This is probably still a buy for me though.

  • It doesn't look bad. I might consider buying this after it gets released on the eShop. By the way, did you guys know that Samurai Sword Destiny is coming out today for $5.99? I'm just giving you a 2 hour heads up.
  • I remember the days when I would play with the real pinball machine in my grandparent's house. I suppose this entry for the 3DS is a welcome substitute, though.
