The lights are on
Crystal Dynamics, which is currently hard at work on the much-anticipated reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise, has something else up its sleeve. The news that Crystal Dynamics is working on a brand new original property came from none other than former Game Informer editor Meagan Marie, who now serves as the studio's community manager (Hi Meagan!). In her Square Enix blog, Meagan wrote:"Not only will our team be eating, sleeping, and breathing Tomb Raider, but we’ll also be hard at work preparing to reveal exciting new intellectual property to the world."She also quoted Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher, who commented, “2012 is going to be the biggest year in Crystal’s history. We have a ton of great content lined up from our teams and we can’t wait to pull the wrapper off some of the amazing things we have been putting all of our efforts into.”We have no idea what this new IP is, but given Crystal's long track record, it's certain to be a game worth paying attention to. Stay tuned for more news about this new project.
Email the author Matt Helgeson, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
Tomb Raider needs to come out before they announce anything. I have read cover stories for too long and have had Tomb Raider pre-ordered on Amazon.com for months now.
This is sweet!:)
Thanks to Meagan, the world of Tomb Raider and Crystal Dynamics is a happier place.
Lotta work going on there. Tomb Raider and a new IP, that's wonderful!
I can't wait to see how this new IP comes to fruition!
sorry, but what's a ip?? :o
I loved the Tomb Raider games up until Legend. Anniversary and Underworld weren't that good, but this game is looking amazing.
It's not the Legacy of Kain finale they owe us. It is therefore irrelevant.
