Rumor: Fallout Fansite Reports That A Settlement Over The Future Of The Fallout MMO Has Been Reached

by Kyle Hilliard on Jan 03, 2012 at 11:30 AM

A lawsuit has been raging on between Bethesda and Interplay over an MMO based on the Fallout universe that Interplay has been developing. It seems that now a settlement has been reached between the two companies.

Bethesda is now the owner of the Fallout franchise, but that honor used to belong to Interplay. Interplay has been hard at work developing a Fallout MMO, but Bethesda as current owners are trying to prevents Interplay's ability to use the Fallout name, storyline, characters, etc.

The legal battle over the MMO has been going on for awhile, but according to Fallout fansite duckandcover.cx, a settlement has been met between the two companies and more information about the settlement will be revealed later this month.

This is all based on rumor, and doesn't offer much information outside of the fact that it looks like Bethesda and Interplay are ready stop bickering. It doesn't necessarily mean the game will be releasing one way or another, but hopefully we will find out more soon.
