The lights are on
A few years ago, I threw away a few bucks on horse armor in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and ended up feeling guilty about it. Imagine how you'd feel if you spent $16,000 on a virtual item? This is exactly what a man in China did to secure a one-of-a-kind sword for the upcoming MMORPG Age of Wulin.
Snail Games, the developer of the game and host of the online auction, also sold a sheath (yes, a SHEATH) for the Hook of Departure for $1,600 and another sheath for the Lordly Spear for $2,500. The sword sale was commemorated with a nice plaque.
I just have to wonder: What if this game ends up sucking? Can he use the sword from the outset, or is it a high level item? Will it always be powerful? We'll find out soon enough, as Snail Games plans to hold the Chinese open beta next spring. An English version is also planned and should begin testing shortly after the Chinese beta kicks off.
For this man's sake, I hope he loves the game, and he and his sword go on to happily slay thousands of dudes.

That's just stupid IMO, but hey if he wanted it that bad then go him, I hardly spend virtual money let alone real money on some weapons in an MMO cause I know eventually I can find better ones, or in WoW's case just hoard up Honor and Justice points lol.
And the Chinese are supposed to be so advanced? They're a nation of psychos and cowards who have a bunch of money; case in point.
I hope this game sucks, but since the money was probably made with sex slaves, it probably doesn't matter to you, you sub-human garbage.
What the heck is wrong with people?
i think its totally stupid to pay more than half of the game's cost for add -ons but the game looks really cool kinda of like what WoW pretends to be in their adds only cooler plus the no level system will be really good or really bad but it will save some people from making fools out of them selves by saying i'm a level 62 blah-blah-blah
more than likely its a pretty powerful sword.
Gotta say, that looks pretty cool. Kinda like a Jade Empire MMO.
Still not worth thousands of dollars lol.
I hope in a year that this game is F2P and that sword is a common item.
This guy obviously has too much money, way too much money.
why? just why?
I actually feel worse for Reiner wasting money on the horse armor for Oblivion.
What a *** idiot
Yeah that is just sickening. People able to throw away money for such crap when honest, hard-working people can't even get jobs now...
wow. face palm.
Makes no sense at all to ever waste money..but to doing it a virtual world..NO COMMENT!!!!
Wtf, people can be really stupid sometimes.
