Kid Icarus Uprising Multiplayer Details Emerge

No surprises were revealed during the Nintendo Direct broadcast last night, but one major question was answered: Where the hell is Kid Icarus Uprising? The game, which was one of the first games revealed for the 3DS, has finally secured a release date. It will hit store shelves in Japan on March 22.

Nintendo also teased new multiplayer tidbits. Through an internet or local connection, players can flutter their little wings in 3-on-3 competitive and battle royale modes.

No US release date details were given last night, but if the Japanese release date holds firm, I wouldn't be surprised if we see it stateside in early summer.

Interesting to see that Nintendo is giving more attention to online gaming with the 3DS, and it's good that 3rd party devs are actually using it. I won't be playing this game as I don't really want a 3DS, but it looks damned good - those who own the system are in or a treat.

INTERNET MULTI-PLAYER??!??!?!?!?!?? YES!!!!!! This is the online play that wasn't delivered to me in Starfox 3D. Finally some multi-player that suits me. THANKS NINTENDO AND GAMEINFORMER!!!

Gameinformer is late in reporting this news, I already reported this on my profile hours ago. By the way, it has already been announced that Kid Icarus: Uprising will be released in North America on March 23, 2011. Anyways, this is great news! Online multiplayer! YES! It's what us 3DS owners WANT, not always local multiplayer! I can't wait until this game comes out! It looks so fun!

Hopefully this makes up for the lack of online multiplayer in Star Fox. this game looks really good, and i cant wait for it to come out.

Why do you say early summer? You do realize that the first day of Summer next year is July 20th, and March 23 2012 is the confirmed U.S. release date for the game...
