Microsoft Scaling Back CES Presence

by Jim Reilly on Dec 22, 2011 at 04:38 AM

Looks like the Consumer Electronics Show will be getting a lot smaller after next year.

After nearly 20 years of participating heavily at the annual show in Las Vegas, Microsoft said the upcoming CES will be its last where it will have a keynote and booth presence on the floor.

"We’ll continue to participate in CES as a great place to connect with partners and customers across the PC, phone and entertainment industries, but we won’t have a keynote or booth after this year because our product news milestones generally don’t align with the show’s January timing," said Frank Shaw, corporate VP of communications at Microsoft on the company's official blog.

CES 2012 takes place next month on January 10-13. Game Informer will be there rounding up any and all gaming announcements, so stay tuned.
