Tekken 3D Prime Edition Release Date

Namco Bandai has announced the release date for Tekken 3D Prime Edition for the Nintendo 3DS.

The game will release in North America on February 14, 2012. Tekken 3D Prime features 60 frames-per-second gameplay with over 40 available fighters. It also allows players to use Street Pass to exchange Tekken cards.

Tekken has a rich 16 year legacy, with the franchise first appearing on the Nintendo platforms in 2001 with Tekken Advance for Game Boy Advance,” says Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America. “With the unique abilities of the Nintendo 3DS, we’re able to show the characters of the epic franchise in a way that has never been seen before, and fans are going to love how Tekken’s return to Nintendo systems has taken the series to new levels.”

  • How many editions can there be for fighting games?
  • One drops out (SSX) for Valentine's Day, and one (Tekken Prime) takes its place. Why does Namco set up its games to fail in the face of too much competition? People want to buy, but with so much coming out at once, there's no money left to buy it with.
  • I'll think about getting it

  • Aw man I don't have a 3ds.

  • the 3ds is just to meh to me. i mean i think the games neat but the system is meh.
  • Nice.

  • Might get the 3DS for Tekken! But then a new 3DS model with the circle pad part of the 3DS will release or something I bet... patience is required with Nintendo handhelds...
  • For some reason this might actually be good!?

  • don't know if this is one of the better reasons to buy the 3ds. However, I'm willing to give it a chance if it's good.

  • VITA
  • That's all cool and all but I'll stick to consoles when it comes to fighting games.

  • That is a pretty crappy screenshot.
  • Cool! That's really soon, and I've been wanting a new game on 3DS. I hope there's online play, oh and that's an awful image up there. Ironic given what the last sentence says. I'm still playing 6 on the PSP though.

  • I can't wait for this to come out!!! Finally something interesting for the 3DS.

  • I'm impressed they will be able to maintain 60FPS with the 3D turned on.
  • Sorry Tekken but Abyss has my wallet and 3DS already booked that day

  • wish i had a 3DS!

  • Hoping the movie still comes with it, it should, because that's my selling point....cards you say!

  • happy valentine's day to me :)
