McEnroe Anchors Grand Slam Tennis 2 Cover

EA Sports has unveiled the box cover for Grand Slam Tennis 2, and the art delivers a trio of some of the sports' biggest stars.

Alongside tennis legend John McEnroe is the number one-ranked ATP Tour player Novak Djokovic (above) as well as Maria Sharapova (who at least is number one in our hearts). Elsewhere in the world, America's favorite loudmouth is replaced by more region-appropriate players like Roger Federer in Germany (although he's Swiss), Rafael Nadal in Spain, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in France.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 is available for PlayStation 3 (which has Move support) and Xbox 360 on February 14.

  • awesome.

  • John Mc made tennis fun to watch.
  • Question: Will they now add a fight in-game option like their NHL games?
  • You can't be serious! * Check out the wooden racket.
  • EA's graphic designers couldn't find a McEnroe pic from when his hair didn't look like Abe Lincoln's hat?
  • Grand slam racquet to floor 2!! New with rage mode!
  • He looks like Will Ferrell.

  • Do people play this game?
  • I would consider buying this if his head covered the entire box art.

  • Wait, Mario is in this game? That sounds like a pretty big change, why didn't I hear about this earlier?

Also, apparently tennis gives your hair the ability to time travel. When's that from, anyway?

  • Ha, that confused me. I was wondering who MariO Sharpova was. It was a typo

  • No Wii version, despite the first being Wii-exclusive. Not a bad decision, per se, but more indicative of Wii pretty much falling off of the map.
  • Yeah, her name is actually Maria Sharapova. Trust me, I'm a tennis player.

  • It says a lot that the most recognizable tennis player is some guy famous for having a temper tantrum from the 80's. Tennis is so lame; it's fun to play, but who cares about it professionally? Who's throwing "Tennis parties" at their houses, getting chips and dip and beer, and watching **** go down at Wimbledon? XD
  • It sucks that EA throw money around to get more licences to devalue the authenticity of their competition. "The EXCLUSIVE home of wimbledon" That might sell it a few copies even if the game sucks. Just like I'm sure Fifa sells a lot of copies for having all the licences.

  • meh

  • I though there already was Grand Slam Tennis 2... Oh well. Wasn't that guy on the box for another 2 or 3 tennis games.

  • I think Maria is going to be offended by you calling her Mario, and the mustached Italian plumber might take offense as well.
