These Are The People Composing Mass Effect 3's Soundtrack

If there's one thing almost everyone can agree on regarding the Mass Effect series, it's that the soundtrack for each game is always really, really good.

BioWare today released the roster of composers putting together the game's music. “The magic of BioWare games has always been the emotional power of the story, so music is extremely important to the experience,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series.

"Each composer has played an intricate role in delivering the combination of epic scope and delicate emotion that will make Mass Effect 3 the best game in the series.”

The roster includes:

Clint Mansell - Golden Globe nominated Hollywood composer recognized for scoring celebrated films including Black Swan, The Wrestler and Requiem for a Dream.

Christopher Lennertz - Emmy nominated Hollywood composer known for his work on the recent movie Horrible Bosses, also composed Mass Effect 2: Overlord, Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker, and won the Interactive Academy Award for Medal of Honor.

Cris Velasco - Known for composing the God of War series' score, has also worked on downloadable content Mass Effect 2: Kasumi and Mass Effect 2: Arrival.

Sam Hulick - Veteran to the Mass Effect series having composed the score for Mass Effect, Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky and Mass Effect 2.

Sascha Dikiciyan - Video game industry veteran, known for composing the score for TRON: Evolution and the scores of Mass Effect 2: Kasumi and Mass Effect 2: Arrival.

The developer pass along a sample track from the game which you can listen to in MP3 form right here.

Mass Effect 3 hits PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on March 6, 2012.

  • Another series that's been ruined by EA... thanks -_-
  • ME1>ME2
  • Thanks, I wasn't going onto their terrible Facebook page to see this.

  • ME2 was my favourite game ever made, even surpassing KotOR and Oblivion. If BioWare can make ME3 even half as good as ME3, I'll be speechless when it finishes. These last 2 years I've played ME1 and 2 over and over again, I've matured and grown with the series, and I feel so emotionally attached to it... The music is a huge part of that. I get shivers every time I hear ME1's opening song. I can't wait for the game.
  • The first two games had awesome soundtracks, so I am very excited to see how this will sound

  • Only Clint Mansell's name is required to know how *** the soundtrack will be.

  • I love a good soundtrack almost as much as I love a good story. It's things like this that make up for the flaws in the gameplay.
  • Christopher Lennertz is good, but I think of him as a poor man's Alf H. Clausen or a Gary Stockdale retread.
  • Epic. Music is always the.....second thing i look for when i play a game to decide whether or not i like it, and this looks like it will not disappoint.

  • I don't recognize any of these names, but based on their credentials, I can only assume Mass Effect 3's soundtrack is in good hands.

  • ME1 was awsome, but i soon forgot about, then i head something about mass effect 2, and i was like meh, then i gradualy grew more interest, and after me2 a tear came to my eye. After this it was my favorite game series of all time. Last year this time i finished my me1 playthough to full extent, everything done my way, every crew member best possible gear. Now im working the same for me2. Music wise this is the best game ever, there are plenty of good game music out there like Halo, Elder Scrolls, but Mass Effect has the most emotion. I have every song from both games on my mp3 player and listen everyday. Cant wait
edit- just listend to the sample, lots of emotion and at the height I heard a hint of the Mass Effect theme sound.
  • To me Music > Graphics.... fortunately ME3 will have both of those things.
  • Clint Mansell, nice. Although I found the movie The Fountain to be completely off it's rocker, he did compose one of my favorite movie soundtrack songs on it.

  • cool i cant wait for ME3

  • I honestly don't think those credentials are impressive Mr.s Lennertz Mansell, Velasco, Hulick and Dikiciyan. You are going to make a terrible soundtrack.

Keed, I keed. Can't wait to hear more about the game. Is it March 6th yet?

  • clint mansell, amazing.

  • It's really disappointing to see that Jack Wall is not on that list. I can't believe that he's not working on ME3, he MADE ME2's soundtrack what it was and he sure as hell helped to make ME1's amazing as well.
  • I don't care, it's still not Jack Wall. (Okay, I care a bit. But still not Jack Wall.)
  • Clint Mansell is one of my favorite composers out there right now, glad to see he is returning for ME3.

  • Uhh... I didn't think the majority of ME1's soundtrack was good, at all. Just generic spacey sounding synthesizer.
