In what's bound to be the most "out of left field" story of the weekend, the The Pokemon Company and Koei have announced Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition for the original DS. An official site has launched, and the debut trailer can be found there.

I think it's safe to say that no one saw this being the next step for the Pokemon series. No word of a US release date, but I wouldn't be surprised if this quirky title doesn't find its way Stateside.

Nobunaga? I'm sure that's a historic figure that I've heard somewhere before, but all I can think of is Nobunaga from the Onimusha games or Nobunaga from some Ps2 game I saw a few years ago.

Judging by the trailer found here http://andriasang.com/comzea/pokemon_x_nobunaga_trailer/ I'd say is more like a cross between Pokemon and Fire Emblem. Hopefully they'll have an English release

Well i don't know much about Nobunaga's Ambition so i can't really say much but this could be either the stupidest thing I've ever heard of or the most amazing thing ever, imagine pokemon fighting alongside samurai!!!!! I literally cannot wait for more news

Also from the trailer it looks like it'll be everything i wanted in mystery dungeon but never got.
