Killzone 3 Could Have Split Screen Co-op

A split screen co-op mode never made it into the final retail release of Killzone 2, but if early screen leaks are any indication, the sequel won’t have that problem.

Remember when people used to play games together on the same couch? We’d like to see more of that in games today. Thankfully, you might not have to pass a controller around the living room for Killzone 3. Neither Sony or developer Guerrilla have commented on this rumor yet, but the Nicaraguan site Nicagamerz is running an image that it claims is from Killzone 3’s split screen co-op mode. Check out the image below.

  • If this is true, that would be awesome! Already stoked for this game, this would just top it. There's nothing like turning to your friend, and looking them in the face as you laugh at them while you own their virtual butt.
  • Well that is cool, but I still prefer my online coop instead.
  • i wish the split screen was like that for black ops
  • They should put co-op in. That would be great. Nothing like blasting through Helghan with a buddy.
  • Excellent!  Between this and the 3D, I'm waiting on a slew of videos where people are leaning to avoid bullets and knock heads with their buddies.

  • I like how Game informer acts like they care about split screen but when a game actually comes out with it they don't mark up the score (or mark down the score if a game lacks it). While if a game doesn't have enough online play they lower the score the game deserved.

  • Competitive = Online Cooperative = Local At least that's how I enjoy them...
  • gosh i hate the square co op idea. like in lost planet 2 where 25% of your screen is black and youre goin all like "what the heck is wrong with my tv" on a side note. guy on the left looks alot like an actor.
  • Never played Killzone, but it's nice to see that there might be a developer left (other than Bungie) that understands most people have friends, siblings, and relatives, and only one TV, much less multiple systems.

  • cant wait for this game, loved the second one

  • YES YES YES COME ON IF YOU DO THIS I WILL BUY THIS GAME SO FAST...wheh...love split screen.

  • I love having a split-screen co-op option. Too many games are forgetting about those of us with real life friends we want to play with at the same house.
  • Sweet! I always have the most fun playing split-screen co-op with my bro. Split-screen co-op is the only reason why I bought a cheap used copy of Army of Two, Kane & Lynch, Haze, and Lost Planet 2.

  • O...M...G...AWESOME

  • As long as they let you change the setup from vertical to horizontal, I'm cool with it.

  • Pleeeeeeease have split screen! That would so rule. On a side note, this means no other games can exclude split screen any longer. The only excuse game developers have come up with for not having split screen is because the added screen means they have to run double the polygons and visuals, and since games are so visually advanced, they just can't get them to work twice as hard. If freakin' Killzone 2, which is one of the most visually amazing games ever, can handle split screen, then all the other developers need to get of their lazy asses and put it in! That is all.
  • Awesome work, this game keeps getting better and better.

  • Could come in handy....

  • sweet now me and my bro dont have to fight over whos playing, will the move compatibilty be co op as well? (both players use move and navi controller)
