The lights are on
Square Enix is expanding its presence by bringing Eidos/IO Interactive's Mini Ninjas to Google Chrome, starting with a beta this month.
Mini Ninjas originally came out for consoles a few years ago (check out our review) and Square Enix is bringing it to Google's Chrome web browser, starting with an open beta starting sometime this month. Participants in the beta will need the upcoming Chrome browser (version 17).
Said Yoichi Wada, Square Enix CEO, "Gaming in the browser greatly expands the video game market to new consumers, devices and platforms... With the power of this technology, Square Enix is pushing the boundaries of the browser gaming market to include high quality games in addition to our popular portfolio of casual games."
It'll be interesting to see what other Square Enix console titles the company can bring to browsers.

I always wanted to play this..but never got around to it. I'll have to look at checking it out this time.
Loved it.
cool
Cool. This will actually help me decide if I want to buy it for the PS3 or not.
This game is super cute and fun. I wish they made a sequel with more hours of gameplay and replay value.
Mini Ninjas is AWESOME! Like Tenchu mixed with Sly Cooper. It was a total under-the-rader gem when it came out, and IO's second best franchise behind Freedom Fighters. I'm happy that Square just seems to recognize it -- between all 4 consoles (there was also a DS version), it DID sell over a million copies. You shouldn't forget about that kind of success, Square (even though it was published by Warner Bros. at the time. But the property is yours now, Square...)
How come there's no article about Chrome supporting console games? It was just announced last night... you're reporting these things backwards
Excellent game, glad it's available for everyone to try.
I have wanted to play this, but never got around to it.
I am totally going to play for a week on my computer, who needs a console to play this, I can just open my browser. Thank you Angry Birds.
Great idea! And now I may actually, if I like it, go buy it for the PS3
Google always knows how to get me.
Any word yet on System Requirements, & Cost GameInformer? :)
I'm a Firefox User, but if Google Chrome is gonna start doin stuff like this, & not cost too much for me to afford, I might start thinking of Google Chrome as a 'Gaming Browser' & Firefox as a 'Surfing Browser'. :D Maybe.
Awesome! I'll get it since I always use Chrome.
I only played the demo and really liked it, this could be a good time 2 play it full.
never played this
Oooh cool, I've never played it but for a web browser? interesting! :)
