The lights are on
The VGAs are this weekend, but per usual, some information about one of its "secret" titles has fallen off the truck early (you'll still have to tune in if you want to see this kind of stuff). Unsatisfied with letting things fall naturally, Tony Hawk is kicking off a reveal himself. His recent tweet basically confirms that a new game in his skateboarding series in the works.
"I'll be announcing the upcoming release of something new on Sat; the same day as the Spike Video Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not," he tweeted last night on his official account.
That's all the info he was willing to share, but it could be great news. Here's hoping it's a return to old-school Tony Hawk. The world could definitely use some of that right now.

I really liked the first Underground game but after that it kinda fell apart. Hopefully it returns to being a series worth playing.
I remember playing Underground, that was the best IMO, but the others after that just weren't as good.
I used to like playing Tony Hawk games I liked THUG a lot but then they just ruined it with THUG 2 and THAW and that one with the skateboard peripheral
I tried to play Proving Ground on the Wii, but it just didn't work out.
Oh gaming gods no! Kill it NOW while it's still a project!
I wouldn't mind if they came back to what like proskater 3 was like, i really enjoyed it. As long as they don't repeat past mistakes and pump out title after title after title.
Hopefully this won't be as bad as Shred.
Spoiler: It'll be terrible.
Something like good old THPS2 or THPS3 wolud be interesting. But yeah, we know how it would look like. New skaters DLC $10, new official maps DLC $5, clothes and decks DLC $10 and so.
Fingers crossed for an XBLA / PSN game, two minute time limit style. It's all about the high scores.
I really hope they scale it back. The old games were fun because they didn't have gimmicky "shopping cart racing" bits and other needless elements.
