The lights are on
The losses continue to mount for the Last Guardian development crew over at Team Ico. There are reports that executive producer Yoshifusa Hayama has left the project.
Hayama has joined social gaming company Bossa Games, and joins creator Fumito Ueda in exiting the game.
Also similar to Ueda, it sounds like Hayama will be finishing his work on The Last Guardian on a freelance basis.
The game is scheduled to come out for PlayStation 3 in 2012.
Email the author Matthew Kato, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
But it sounds like the guy is still working on the game. Also, I love how it looks like the creature is eating the kids head in that picture.
I understand the executive producer and Ueda are still working on this project on a freelance basis, I just hope the game doesn't suffer. I've been looking forward to this game since the first time I played Shadow of the Colossus. I guess I'll just have to get the HD Team Ico collection to stave off the anxiety.
I am glad they are at least completing the game, it looks very promising, and just as epic as SoTC and Ico, would love to see more from this team but at this rate, my kids would be the ones to benefit from their work. It sucks, but really they have completed 2 games in the last 10 years and dangling the 3rd in front of our eyes for the last 4, so not as tragic as it seems. I'll be happy if they just complete the Last Guardian. There are plenty of awesome developers still producing amazing work out there.
They must be in development hell, I hope the game comes out, hope my PS3 brethren don't get shafted with this, as I've always loved the the team Ico games.
Wow, really GI? The title of this article is an outright lie. I know you're trying to get more hits, but taking advantage of our emotional investment in a game through deception is not the way to do it. Shame, GI.
Weird little boys, the favored snack of even weirder dog/bird creatures.
This doesn't sound good. Those two helped develop Shadow Of The Collosus (My favorite Playstation 2 game). If they're gone, this game won't stand a chance against tittles like DMC and Halo 4.:(
Well now we know why development is taking so long, everyone keeps leaving it! Seriously, I'm starting to fear the worst.
I'm sure this game will still knock our socks off like Ico and SotC did. MW3 turned out pretty awesome even after IW was gutted.
Lost to Development Hell
