Feast Your Eyes On 255 LEGO Vic Vipers From 135 Creators

by Andrew Reiner on Dec 06, 2011 at 03:30 PM

If you don't know what the Vic Viper is, you were probably born after the arcade era. The Vic Viper and the Moai are the two iconic entities from Konami's classic Gradius video game series. Starting last November, the LEGO building community has paid tribute to Nate "nnenn" Nielson, a fellow builder who passed away in a car accident, by building their own renditions of the Vic Viper, using construction rules Nielson adhered to. This event is now known as "Nnovvember."

This year's turnout demonstrates how flexible this rule set is. The ship has to have a single dorsal tail, dual forward prongs, and rear lateral wings to make the grade. As you can see, all 255 Vic Vipers are unique, yet they all look like they are a part of the same set. If you go to Pasukaru76's Flickr page, you can view a large version of the image above to get a good look at all of the ships.
