The lights are on
Starting next month, Verizon FiOS customers can download an app on the Xbox 360 and watch live streaming channels without the need for a set-top box.
The offer is available to customers who are Xbox Live Gold members and who subscribe to both FiOS TV and Internet service. 26 select FiOS TV channels will initially be available, depending on the customer's TV package. Kinect voice and gesture commands are also being integrated.
"Joining forces with Microsoft and Xbox, we are breaking the boundaries between TV and gaming, and furthering the borderless lifestyle Verizon customers enjoy with our new offers and services," said Eric Bruno, vice president of consumer and mass business product management for Verizon.
Customers who order FiOS TV and Internet service will receive Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and a 12-month Xbox Live Gold membership. You can check the availability of FiOS in your area here.
Lol television. All you need is the internet and you're set. *** paying like 50 bucks+ for TV.
I was on the fence about fios this just cemented it. Switching this weekend!
Interesting idea. As expensive as cable is getting these days, it sounds like a good deal. Maybe I'll look into it.
Sweet!!!!
If it has anything to do with seeing the hot Verizon girl from the commercials, we all win!
aaand this is why i have fios :)
I'll wait a while on this as I don't really watch TV and I already have netflix and hulu.
I've never even heard of this. More of Microsoft's 'pay us and pay them and you can use us and them!' plan. This seems like a minor convenience for the amount of money you're spending on both.
I already have cable, soooo no!
No, just no. This is something else to clutter the dashboard and make the XBox boot up slower. And I have cable, and I don't want Fios.
i already have internet and fios. how do i get halo and the xbox live?
That sucks for me cause i have Fios but i want that *** halo
