Check Out The Dungeons Of World Of Warcraft's Hour Of Twilight Update

by Phil Kollar on Nov 23, 2011 at 09:35 AM

Blizzard's upcoming patch 4.3 for World of Warcraft, subtitled "Hour of Twilight," will be the final big content patch for Cataclysm. We're expecting it to go live within the next couple of weeks, and to prepare adventurers, Blizzard has released nine minutes of footage from the three new five-man dungeons and one new raid that will cap off this destructive expansion.

The video contains glimpses of the environments and encounters in the following new instances:

-End Times -- Unlike previous time-traveling instances, this one takes players into the future for a terrifying look at what will happen to Azeroth if the heroes don't defeat Deathwing.

-Well of Eternity -- Another time-traveler, this one takes players into Azeroth's distant past to take part in the War of the Ancients, one of the biggest events in Warcraft's history.

-Hour of Twilight -- This final five-man instance will encompass the final preparation for the battle against Deathwing, with players working together with Orc shaman Thrall and other important NPCs to get ready for the final fight.

-Dragon Soul -- Blizzard is billing this 10- or 25-person raid as "the most epic raid encounter Blizzard has ever designed." I'll have to wait till we play it to see if that's true, but seeing a massive battle that takes place on Deathwing's back as the powerful creature flies through the air goes a long way toward convincing me.

Check out the full nine-minute video for yourself below, and watch for the release of the Hour of Twilight update sometime in the coming weeks.
