Socom Dev Announces Unit 13 For Vita

by Jim Reilly on Nov 22, 2011 at 07:54 AM

Zipper Interactive, the Seattle-based developer best known for crafting the original SOCOM series, announced it's developing a new shooter for the PlayStation Vita called Unit 13.

Players will choose one of six operatives in the game, each with unique abilities, as they fight through 36 missions across nine locations. Mission sizes and difficulty will vary, and players can eventually unlock High Value Target enemy battles. Unit 13 also utilizes the Vita's  WIFI and 3G capabilities, keeping players up to date on leaderboard positions, offering new “Daily Challenge” content and unlocks, the ability to share High Value Target missions, and accepting challenges from friends. Co-op includes high quality voice chat.

Unit 13 is expected to launch near the PlayStation Vita's release.
